Esaie Toingar holds an M.A. in Industrial Management and is the founder and president of Wake Up For Your Rights; Water and Clean Energy for Livelihood International; and Journey to Forgiveness and Peace. He is an activist and a commissioner on the Civil Rights Commission of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Author of A Teenager in the Chad Civil War and Idriss Déby and the Darfur Conflict, he is also a documentary writer and producer of Dos and Don’ts in the USA. Esaie works for Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids.  His leadership is based on honesty, a positive attitude, and a desire to inspire others.  He and his wife, Brigitte, fund an elementary and middle school for needy children in their native Chad and are the parents of five children.

Armel Mushekuru is the Project coordinator and vice president of Wake Up For Your Rights Iowa. He was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He served as a volunteer for Red Cross in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is the founder of C.P.V.F (conseil des jeunes pour la vie futur)

He served as a HIV counselor under the Save the Children international in the democratic Republic of Congo. He served as the Vice President of the United Nations Kampala international university

He served as the director of chapters of the United Nations of the East Africa.

Now he is the Director of Wake up for your rights International chapters and the vice president of Iowa chapter.

Gbemou Kossi S. Vinyo is a self-dedicated man who is committed to motivating and rallying individuals and groups together in achieving common objectives and reaching their full potential.

He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the prestigious Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and also holds a professional certificate in marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK.

His unshakable desire and commitment to empowering others called him to join Wake-Up for your Right in the USA where he is currently the general Secretary for the United States coordination.

Karen S. Agee, Ph.D.,  She is the secretary for the board of directors of Wake Up For Your Rights. She was the Reading and Learning Coordinator at the University of Northern Iowa 1984-2009 and served eight years on the executive board of the College Reading and Learning Association.  She continues to serve on the editorial boards of three professional journals and on the board of directors of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education.  For the past few years Karen has provided volunteer education for the Waterloo branch of the Ethnic Minorities of Burma Resource and Advocacy Center; EMBARC is a refugee-run non-profit organization. Karen’s son and daughter live in warmer climates, and her husband, Thom, teaches math at UNI.
