Responding to the Ebola Crisis in Africa
• Ebola has already killed more than 2,000 people in Africa—10% of them health workers—and continues to kill victims at a rate of about 77% as it spreads. Many people have lost their parents, brothers, sisters, or children. Organizations such as Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders (MSF) have responded and are working in affected areas to take care of victims, not just those in quarantine but also the families and communities of victims. The government of the United States has joined other countries to respond.
• Wake Up For Your Rights, in partnership with Red Cross International Services, is organizing an online fundraising effort in order to assist Ebola victims and affected families in Africa especially in countries directly affected now: Equatorial Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Nigeria. By organizing this fundraising effort in partnership with Red Cross, Wake Up For Your Rights can leverage up to $500,000 in dollar-for-dollar matching funds.
• Please make your donation by October 10 at the donation link on this website. By making your donation to this cause, you will not only save thousands of lives but also show your compassion for victims of this scourge. Thank you so much for taking action and standing with us against Ebola in Africa.
